Why AI Shouldn’t Keep You Up at Night

AI is an interesting topic.

There is a variety of reactions that come with the technology.

Some people love it, some are fearful of it, and some are completely oblivious to it entirely.

These responses are not surprising however.  For years people have responded to new technological advances in a similar way.

Like anything brand new, there is always a period of adaptation in regards to how it is integrated into the daily lives of human beings.

We asked ontological coach Bettie Spruill her thoughts on AI.  As usual, her thoughts astounded us!

History repeats itself

When the printing press came out centuries ago, people got very concerned.

An abundance of information was locked away in monasteries.  Philosophers especially wondered what would happen if the general public were able to get a hold of this information.

Once the word of the printing press started to spread, people started to become afraid.

Interestingly enough, people weren’t so much afraid of the information itself but what the information would do in the hands of the rest of society.

Of course as time went on the situation eventually smoothed over.  At least until the next technological revolution was invented in which people began to respond in the same exact way.

So now we have arrived at this particular modality of communication and learning.  AI has appeared in the public eye as another moving piece in the context of humanity.

However, we forget that it is human beings who created and imagined AI in the first place.

Most things have an upside and a downside

As advanced as AI is, humanity is still bringing artificial intelligence forth.  AI can only advance as far as we take it.

So it’s not necessarily something to be afraid of but rather something to be excited about!

Everything on this planet can be looked at as positive or negative.

We live in a “both/and” world where just about everything can be steered for the betterment or destruction of humanity.

Just like most medicines, there’s an upside and there’s a downside.  AI holds an interesting position in this regard.

The upside of AI is its ability to bring a lot of information and theories to the world in an innovative way.  Conversely, it is not able to reflect.

Reflection is an irreplaceable human quality

What makes us human is our capacity and ability to reflect.  To stop and take a look at how things are and how they can be.

It’s human beings who will shape it for the goodness of the world despite some people using it for their own personal advantages and perhaps using it to hurt or harm others.

This is inevitable.  This “dilemma” of leveraging tools and information is simply the rising of consciousness.

Just like the printing press, the world will learn how to adapt to the futuristic capabilities of AI.  You may as well get familiar with it while it is on an upward trajectory.

Also be mindful that AI can only respond to the questions you ask it.

Learning how to ask powerful questions will not only support you in your communication with AI but more importantly it will support you with the relationships in your life.

If you are interested in the art of asking powerful questions in a way where infinite possibilities can derive from them, look into attending our next Masters Course where you’ll learn the five pivotal steps to master any domain in your life (available to Advanced Course Graduates).
